Is it likely that someone who is original and intelligent does not do very well at school? Should such a learner be called a failure? If not, why not?
Exams do not test intelligence. The examination result show only how much a student knows about the facts and figures, formulas and other information given in textbooks or course book. Some students are better at remembering those facts and figures and formulas than others. They get better marks even if they o not understand the application of those formulas in real life situations. Everyone has his or her own strengths and weaknesses. Some students grasp concepts and even go beyond them. some students good in one thing but hopelessly bad at others.Everyone has his or her own individual talents, which might or might not be visible in the academic report.Hafeez contractor was not good in study. However, he ahs the talent for construction, and he is now one of the leading architects. Thay is why students should be encouraged to showcase their talents and work on them. They should not be called failures.
