If 2 trains of equal length are running on parallel lines in the same directions at 66 km/hr and 56 km/hr. The faster train passes the slower train in 54 sec, then what will be the length (in m) of each train?

Answer 1:

Let the length of each trai be x m

Relative speed = (66-56) kmph = 10 kmph = 10*5/18 mps = 25/9 mps

Now, Time = Distance/ Speed

54 = 2x?25*9

x = 75 m
